Prof. Seiichiro Katsura of Keio University in Yokohama, Tokio, visited our Department from June 16-21. 2023. Earlier, in early March, our staff, Prof. Krzysztof Szabat and Dr. Karol Wróbel were hosted by Prof. Katsura in Japan. The professor is a world expert in robotics and mechatronics, runs his own research laboratory, and serves as deputy editor of the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Industrial Electronics, among other journals. The professor has prepared more than 600 scientific publications.

On the 19th of June, at 11:15 a.m., in room 312, building A-5, a lecture was held by Prof. Katsura titled "Motion Control for Smart Manufacturing". The meeting brought together a large number of students, doctoral students and employees from various departments of the University of Science and Technology.

Professor Seiichiro Katsura's visit included a number of discussions, including a discussion of research or staff exchange plans (planned internships for our employees at Keio University) and a presentation of the Department's laboratories. The professor also had the opportunity to tour Wroclaw, including Ostrów Tumski, Centennial Hall and the Market Square.
