On 5 April 2024, another edition of the Open Day of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology was held. The event was aimed at presenting the University to university candidates. Once again, our staff did not disappoint and prepared attractive presentations and classes in two laboratories: Industrial Automation Laboratory and Industrial Equipment and Drives Control Laboratory.

In the Industrial Automation Laboratory, future students were able to see, among other things, robots currently used in industry (with different kinematic structures, including arm robots, SCARA-type robots, Cartesian robots and collaborative robots) and compare them with designs used several years ago.

In the Industrial Equipment and Drives Control Laboratory, visitors could see how industrial control systems, consisting of programmable logic controllers, HMI operator panels, vision systems, robots and drive systems, work. Twelve laboratory workstations were prepared, using various didactic setups representing models of industrial equipment, machines and processes.

In addition, Grzegorz Tarchała, Ph.D., gave a short lecture entitled ‘Energy in the battery and what next? Power supply in electric vehicles", and Piotr Serkies, Ph.D., Vice-Dean of our Faculty, presented the advantages of studying at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at a stand organised in the Student Centre (C-13).

We can confidently write that we were visited by students not only from our region, but from almost all over Poland, including Poznań, Częstochowa and Bielsko-Biała. Our guests were impressed by the opportunities offered by studying at our Faculty, and we hope that they will soon join the ranks of our students.
