On 30 October 2023, in room 305, building A-5, our Department hosted a lecture by Mr Sebastian Schneider and Mr Mateusz Gietz, representatives of Siemens Energy, entitled "Power electronic devices in modern high voltage grids". The speakers are employees of Siemens Energy's R&D centre in Erlangen, Germany, and are involved in the design and implementation of pioneering and unique solutions in the field of power electronics used in power systems. Among other things, they are currently working on the novel STATCOM Frequency Stabilizer.
The speakers are also graduates of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at our University. Their lecture is a proof of the great opportunities offered by the education provided by our Department and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
We look forward to their next lectures and wish them success in their careers!
