Department of Electrical Machines,
Drives and Measurements

Cooperation with the Technical University in Košice

Date: 17.02.2023

On February 13-17, 2023, representatives of the Department of Electrical Drives and Measurements in the persons of Professor Grzegorz Tarchała and doctors Karol Wróbel and Piotr Derugo visited our colleagues from the Technical University in Košice (Slovakia). During the visit, meetings were held with the employees of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics.

The primary purpose of the visit was to strengthen cooperation between the units, therefore one of the items on the agenda was the presentation of current scientific issues dealt with by the employees of our Department.

During the visits to the laboratories, many discussions arose, not only about the conducted research but also about teaching, which profile is also very similar in our entities.

During joint work in the laboratory, PMSM motors brought by our team were tested, including one created as part of the POiG Project.

Unfortunately, it turned out that putting even four electric motors in the trunk of a combustion car did not improve its performance in any way.

The fascinating points of the trip were the opportunity to participate in the opening of the laboratory created in cooperation with B/S/H Michalovce and a visit to the Spinea factory where world-class robot drives are made. UT Košice strongly focuses on collaboration with the industry.

We are counting on the further development of cooperation and we are already planning a joint project, meanwhile, we would like to thank our host Karol Kyslan - thanks! and Erasmus+ for funding.
